What makes a community builder? Staci talks about trusting yourself

Nov 6 / The Portal Collective team
Today in our What Makes a Community Builder? series we are honoured to have Staci (she/her) to talk about trusting yourself. Her offer is called “Remember - trust yourself again, share their story.

At The Portal, these interviews are part of our wider exploration of wisdom sharing, specifically how knowledge and collective support can reshape the way communities thrive.

Over to you Staci....

Based in South Africa living in Greece. Before joining The Portal, I have been working as a coach and trainer for over 10 years. I created a course on Kajabi 5 years ago and ran it for a year but missed the community element. I ran a small community on Mighty Networks for about 3 months in 2021.

Tell us more about your community building offer about trusting yourself

Remember is a 6-week guided journey to reconnect with your intuition—the inner knowing that often gets buried under doubt, habit, or overthinking. Each week you’ll receive simple practices and join a live call to explore, experiment, and build trust in your own guidance, so intuition becomes a natural part of daily life.

Who is your offer for?

A successful, midlife woman who feels restless and disconnected from her true self. She’s done the external work but longs to live authentically, free from expectations and “shoulds.” She seeks a grounded, supportive space for deep, honest growth—no fluff, no quick fixes—and values a slow, steady journey toward living true.

Why did you choose to create this offer about trusting yourself on The Portal?

I chose to create Remember on The Portal because its mission aligns with mine: collaboration over competition, connection over commodification. This is a woman-owned platform built to nurture community-focused learning rather than overwhelm you with an information dump. The Portal holds space for shared exploration and genuine connection, where we can grow together rather than consume in isolation. That spirit is at the heart of Remember, and it’s why this felt like the right home.

As this series is about “What makes a community builder?” Why does community building matter to you right now?

Living in a tiny village in Greece, I’m far from my People, so online communities have become a lifeline. Growing up in South Africa, emigration often split families — our first communities — making me aware of how precious everyday connection and shared rhythms are.

Today, with so many people working hard and defaulting to social media in their downtime, I want to use technology to create real spaces where we can connect, share, and relate — spaces that nurture relationships and remind us how to truly be with one another.

What does community mean to you?

Community, to me, means finding my People — those kindred souls whose stories may look different on the surface but carry the same threads underneath. When we share our journeys, we realize we’re not alone in what we’re navigating, and that recognition is powerful. My motto has always been that we’re all just walking each other home, and I believe we do that best in communities built around shared purpose, where connection replaces isolation and being seen becomes the ground we grow from.

What do you enjoy about The Portal?

The diversity of people, not just in what they offer, but in how they weave the shared experience of community into their work. It’s inspiring to see creativity, wisdom, and support flow naturally between members. And on a personal level, it’s incredibly exciting to be part of a woman-owned startup that’s offering an alternative to the traditional business environment.
