Every brand on the internet seems to be selling us community.
But community is not a product. It cannot be bought, packaged, or consumed. It must be woven. That’s why several Creators from The Portal are offering Free Communing Sessions, open gatherings for anyone with a free Experiencer account.
That includes all Creators, too. This is the gift of The Portal community.
What Is Communing?
Communing is a collaborative project currently hosted by Creators of the Portal. It is simple by design and generous in spirit. We hope more hosts will join over time. There is no hierarchy here, no inner circle, and no, you’re not late to the party.
There is only a spiral, where each of us is free to move closer to the center or step back as it suits us. Communing is the act of being together in presence. It is the soil from which real community grows. Learn about our Communing Guidelines here.
What Happens in a Session?
That depends on the creator, but it might involve:
Moving
Thinking
Being
Reflecting
Listening
Or something entirely emergent
Details for each session are shared in advance so you know what to expect. And we hope you leave a little more rooted in the ecology of this world, more connected, more resourced, more aware of the living web we are part of.
Who Is It For?
Anyone with a free Experiencer account on The Portal. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning, joined yesterday, are enrolled in six paid offerings or none, you are warmly welcome.If you know someone who would relish a rich, restorative place to land freely, please invite them to create a free account and join us
Once there, navigate to “Spaces” on the top and join “The Portal Community” which will take you to our community on Circle.
There you will find the sessions in the “Free Events” space.
RSVP to an event and it will add them to your calendar and you’ll get a reminder email an hour before the sessions starts.

Communing ~ Embodying Brigid's Fire and Flowwith Maggie Mc Keever Date: Monday, 23 March, 2026 Time: 08:00 PM - 09:15 PM GMT You're invited to join Maggie for a 75 minute practice of somatics, yin / restorative and nidra with Celtic wisdom woven throughout. Since Imbolg we've been working with the firey and flowy energy of goddess / saint Brigid. As poet Laura Murphy says, "Brigid doesn't want to be worshipped, but for us to live her qualities."
Communing - The Creative Lab with Selina Stansfield Date: Tuesday, 24 March, 2026 Time: 11:00 PM - 12:00 PM GMT Step into a space designed to reconnect you with your creativity. Most of us haven’t lost our creativity, we’ve just lost the space to hear it. Days blur together, your projects wait on the shelf, and the gentle nudges of ideas gets drowned out by life’s noise. The Creative Lab is different. It’s a calm, safe cocoon where you can step away from the pressures, distractions, and expectations of the outside world.
Communing ~ Journaling with Harriet Hamid Collett Date: Friday, 27 March, 2026 Time: 02:00 PM - 03:00 PM GMT Join Harriet to gather in a gently facilitated space, where there will be invitations into short ecosomatic practices and spring-inspired journaling prompts
Communing - Germinating with Laila Datoo Date: Wednesday, 1 April, 2026 Time: 02:00 PM - 03:00 PM GMT Join Laila as we move into Spring – for this gentle process of Becoming As the season shifts and light returns, beneath the surface, seeds are germinating. Quietly gathering energy, reaching for nourishment, and preparing to emerge. In this guided session, we’ll explore what is germinating within us.
Communing ~ Non-doing with HarrietHamid Collett Date: Friday, 17 April, 2026 Time: 11:00 aM - 12:00 PM GMT During this session, Harriet will gradually invite us from a space of doing into a space of less doing, and non-doing. With spaces for reflection, connection and integration.
Communing ~ The Basics of Permaculture with Sally Date: Tuesday, 21 April, 2026 Time: 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM GMT In this session Sally will introduce the basics of permaculture and practical steps we can take away to take action today. We know the way we are currently living is unsustainable - placing a huge load on an increasingly fragile planet. Permaculture provides us with a framework to look and act locally, to remember ancient practices and innate ways of being and to become part of the solution.
Communing - Sprouting with Laila Datoo Date: Thursday 23 April, 2026 Time: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM GMT Join Laila as we step into the next stage of Becoming. Three weeks ago, something was germinating. Quietly, beneath the surface, you set an intention and began to tend to it. Now, we gather again to notice what has begun to show.
